Carbon Sequestration Lecture.
Wednesday, Feb 19. 6-8 pm. Details here.
The NY Academy of Science has an interesting lecture series, and this week’s features a Columbia Professor talking about Carbon Sequestration. I wonder if he’ll mention that the govt’s big FutureGen project got shut down – albeit for rising construction costs, not for a flaw in the sequestration technology, which as far as I know hasn’t actually been proven in a full-scale facility yet…..
Or you might just want to go to Brooklyn Green Drinks for the official opening of GreenHouse Effects @ Greenbelt- a two-week open house event featuring décor and strategies for sustainable, stylish urban living. Guests will get a first look at a model apartment furnished with cutting edge ‘green’ décor curated by renowned designers who will be on hand to chat about their green nature of their work. Directions: By train: L to Lorimer or to Graham stop. 361 Manhattan Avenue. (betw. Jackson and Withers Streets) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn 11211.
