- We do a lot of work in areas of the world where water is pretty scarce, so we try to reuse water as much as possible. Its great to see that Orange County is opening their reclaimed water treatment plant today, where they will purify treated wastewater to drinking water standards. It is still not legal at any location in the US to use treated wastewater directly for drinking water, so the OC will be injecting the treated water into the groundwater. This will partly serve to prevent saltwater intrusion into the groundwater, and partly serve to replenish the aquifer so that groundwater wells that withdraw potable water nearby.

- In some holiday season news, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be decorated with LED lights this year. The developer of Rockefeller Center has also installed solar panels on the roof of one of the buildings in the complex.
